Book Signing and Author Luncheon with N.J. (Nancy) Mastro
Join N.J. (Nancy) Mastro for a box luncheon on August 8th in Bemidji, where she'll be signing books and speaking about her debut novel Solitary Walker: A Novel of Mary Wollstonecraft. Published in 2025 by Black Rose Writing, Solitary Walker is biographical fiction about Mary Wollstonecraft, the 18th century British writer widely considered the world's first feminist. Wollstonecraft, an early advocate for girls' education, led a dramatic and sometimes timultuous personal life, the subject of the novel.
Mastro has deep ties to the Bemidji area. She attended undergraduate school and later earned her master's degree at Bemidji State University. She's a former principal at Lincoln Elementary and worked for several years as the Director of Curriculum for Bemidji Area Schools before relocating to the Twin Cities. In 2017 she retired from public education and took up a career as a novelist.
Signed books will be available at the event for purchase.
Ticket price includes a box lunch from which attendees will select from an assortment of ham, turkey, and pastrami sandwiches.
