Description

Nashville Rounds

May 6, 2026 – Andrew Judah & Lucas Penner

Nashville Rounds is an intimate, songwriter-in-the-round showcase inspired by classic
Nashville listening rooms, where great songs and honest stories take center stage. Hosted
by Dan Tait, the night features a warm, conversational format with artists sharing the
stage, trading songs, and introducing both their music and themselves in a way that feels
personal and engaging. The next Nashville Rounds features performers Ben Klick and
Norm Strauss.
Andrew Judah
Andrew Judah is a Kelowna-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, and
songwriter whose work blends cinematic orchestration with textured analog sound.
Fearless and meticulous in his approach, his music weaves together organic
instrumentation with warped electronic tones, creating arrangements that feel both
exploratory and emotionally grounded.
His songs often balance delicate melodies with subtle rhythmic complexity—what might
be described as controlled chaos—held together by the unmistakable thread of Judah’s
voice.
In addition to releasing his own albums, Andrew is an in-demand producer and engineer,
having worked with artists including Windmills, Sean Waters, ICELANDIA, Rinnovare, N.
Sherman, Chloe Davidson, and Common Fires. He also releases ambient music under
the name Cultus, is the founder of the Sounds Suspicious Collective, and performs as a
member of the group nightshades.

Lucas Penner
Lucas Penner is a musician and actor based between Penticton, BC and Joshua Tree,
California, whose creative work spans songwriting, film, and collaborative musical
projects.
His recent solo album Mergatroid explores themes of memory, loss, and rediscovery,
blending singer-songwriter storytelling with electronic textures, string arrangements, and a
series of accompanying visual works. The album was inspired by Penner’s grandmother
and reflects on the fragile space between remembering and forgetting.
Penner also performs with the band Desert Friends, a guitar-driven collaboration inspired
by the landscapes of both the Mojave Desert and the semi-arid Okanagan Valley. Their

sound blends surf, Middle-Eastern, and spaghetti-western influences into cinematic
instrumental music reminiscent of artists like Khruangbin, Hermanos Gutiérrez, and Arc
De Soleil.
Beyond music, Lucas works as an actor in film and theatre, bringing the same curiosity and
storytelling instinct to the screen as he does to the stage.

Host Dan Tait
Dan Tait serves as the guiding voice behind Frog City Café’s beloved Nashville Rounds.
A Kelowna singer-songwriter, a community builder, and a CBC Radio One music
columnist, he brings thoughtful storytelling and lived experience to the role.
With Dan at the centre, the round becomes more than a show — it becomes a shared
conversation in song.

Like all good stories, this is a story rooted in love.

The seeds of this story were planted way back in the 1970's, when I, Lalita, moved to Kaleden and met the Hayter family. As a youth I would love, laugh, dance, sing, and play on these lands with the Hayter cousins Kris and Myron, eating Grandma Hayters cinnamon toast after school. This family would take over my heart.

Life would happen and we would lose the Hayter cousins at a young age. Grief would move my feet to travel, but eventually these feet would bring me back home to raise my own family.

To return a lifetime later to these lands and these beautiful people completes a circle in my life, full bloom.

It is my honor to be given the opportunity to operate Frog City Cafe with my husband and hold space for love, laughter, dancing, singing, and playing.

This is a love story. This is Frog City Cafe.
