Thank you for registering your team for the annual Gumbo Festival! We’re thrilled to welcome you to this year’s event, Saturday, November 1st from 11 AM - 2 PM at CoastAL Restaurant in beautiful Orange Beach, Alabama. It’s going to be a flavorful day of friendly competition, community spirit, and of course - mouthwatering gumbo!
Below you’ll find everything you need to know about competing, including rules, entry details, and prize info. Gather your crew, perfect your secret recipe, and get ready to compete for the ultimate gumbo glory!
Team Entry Fee: $150 per team (Teams of 3 people)
Includes: 3 official Gumbo Fest T-shirts, $100 Rouses Market gift card + CoastAL gift bag
Team Requirements:
• Each team must prepare a minimum of 7 gallons of gumbo
• All ingredients and cooking tools are the responsibility of each team
• Only propane-powered cooking equipment is allowed (no electricity or generators)
• No dishwashing station will be available on-site
• No outside alcoholic beverages permitted
• All teams must follow proper food handling procedures as defined by the State of Alabama
We Provide:
• One 10x10 tent
• One 6-foot table
• 3 folding chairs
• Sampling bowls and spoons for serving
Prize Payouts:
1st Place: $1,000 + Gumbo Paddle Trophy
2nd Place: $500 + Gumbo Paddle Trophy
3rd Place: $250 + Gumbo Paddle Trophy
People’s Choice: $500 + Gumbo Paddle Trophy + Bragging Rights
