New Orleans Blues Society presents : A Juke Joint Showcase with 3 great Blues Women!  Thursday October 9, 2025 In the Pavilion at The Broadside.  Doors 6pm. Show 7pm.  The showcase will feature SEMAJ, Layla Musselwhite, and Lil Red and The Bad.

Come by before tbe show and grab dinner in the barroom. Nikkei Izakaya  kitchen opens at 5pm.  We  will be selling beer by the bucket  as well as a full bar in the back of the room., including a juke joint drink special. You can  also order great food from our Nikkei Izakaya kitchen,  pick it up in the barroom , and enjoy it a table in the Pavilion.  It will be dark but not smoke filled.  

Semaj and the Blues Experiment : SEMAJ is a writer, singer & harmonica player who blends originals & classic Blues. SEMAJ is lead of an amazing band named, “THE BLUES EXPERIMENT.”

Layla Musselwhite and band : Layla Musselwhite is a New Orleans-based singer songwriter and slide guitarist who draws on a rich musical legacy

Lil Red and Big Bad : The music of Lil Red and Big Bad is unique to New Orleans, a mix of Blues, R&B and Rock & Roll delivered with a lot of soul.

FAQ

  • The showtime listed for the event is the time the event starts. Doors will generally open an hour before the listed show time unless otherwise listed.
  • We allow pets during the day, but not at night for music (anything after 7pm). Service animals are always allowed
  •  Please do not park in the Broad Theater parking lot. We have a parking lot for The Broadside and plenty street parking available on Toulouse and Lafitte. If you would like to be escorted to your car, please ask the Sheriff on duty. You may also park in the Auto Zone parking lot if they are closed. 
  • Our outdoor space has a variety of seating options such as benches, picnic tables, chairs, and stools. If you require a seat for health reasons or disability, please ask a staff member and they can provide you with a chair.
