Interested in astronomy or just want to volunteer for a science-based organization? The Robert Ferguson Observatory is offering new volunteer training! The observatory has a robust volunteer program, and is continually looking for people to help deliver astronomy-related programs to the public. Prior experience or knowledge of astronomy is not necessary. Virtual training takes place on 2/23, 3/2 AND 3/9, with in-person telescope training on the following two Wednesdays for those interested in learning how to operate the scopes. Questions? Contact Stephanie at sd@rfo.org.

Robert Ferguson Observatory

The Valley of the Moon Observatory Association (VMOA) is volunteer amateur and professional astronomers plus a small supporting staff organized as a nonprofit association to provide educational programs about science and astronomy for students, the public, and in support of educators.

The VMOA is responsible for the construction, maintenance and utilization of the Robert Ferguson Observatory and functions as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization under the auspices of the California State Parks System, and in cooperation with our local state parks.
