Newpoli is a group of skilled musicians who specialize in southern Italian folk music, primarily from the regions of Campania and Puglia. Their music crosses through time culture and musical styles. The South of Italy has a multicolored past with influences from northern Africa, the Middle East and ancient Greece. These influences can still be heard in the traditional melodies and rhythms of the pizzica, tarantella and other musical genres of the South.

The group was founded in 2003 by directors Carmen Marsico, Angela Rossi and Björn Wennås. Newpoli is an eight-piece ensemble that has performed throughout the United States. In 2008 Newpoli made its European debut at Diacetum Festival in Tuscany, Italy.

The Paradise Theatre

The Paradise Theatre is an intimate non-profit theatre and entertainment venue located in the heart of Downtown Paonia. Our mission is to build community through educational events, live music, film and theater. The historic theatre was built in 1928 and formed into a non-profit in 2014. From it's inception, the Paradise has been a gathering place for film, music and community events. Our standing room capacity is 250 people and our seated capacity is 150 people. We offer organic popcorn, locally produced wine, hard cider and chocolate and we have a full bar. The Paradise Theatre welcomes everyone with love and kindness, regardless of your beliefs, your culture, your race, your gender or your politics. This is a safe space for all people.
