Share Thank you for visiting the Shafter Ford Theater website! We are honored to have you. A little bit about us: we are a small town theater arts building in Shafter, CA. We host concerts, musicals, plays, business meetings, banquets and more! Our building holds about 300 people, which creates a very intimate setting for performances. In our six years of being open, we have been lucky enough to host many amazing musicians, such as Jon Foreman, Danny Gokey, Jars of Clay, and many more. We are home to the Shafter Children's Summer Theater and the Shafter Young Adult's Theater, run by Cris Starrh. We have held 6 of Larry Starrh's original musicals. In addition, we've hosted many business events, weddings, proms, bridal showers, and birthday parties. We are so thankful to the citizens of Shafter for their continued support and we hope you will consider us when searching for a fun place to stop in Shafter!
Description
Shafter Young Adults Theater proudly presents Disney's Newsies! This production is based on a true story in which changed the course of history as we know it today. Imagine what could happen when a group of young people, kids in fact, decide that they deserve equal rights, fair treatment and a say to the world around them. Follow Jack Kelly, Davey and Les as they go toe to toe with Mr. Joseph Pulitzer himself to demand equal rights for every kid in New York. Through the humor, the dancing and singing, and the message that comes from the story behind the story you'll catch yourself routing for the little guy! This show is about never selling yourself short, and not allowing others to look down on you because of your age, but to rise to the occasion and watch what happens when we are united as one!
