The Centre for Hellenic Studies at King's College London is a unique grouping of academics in different disciplines and departments, with interests and expertise covering more than three millennia, from Aegean prehistory to the history, language, literature and culture of Greece, Cyprus and the worldwide Greek diaspora today.Founded in 1989, the Centre is committed to promoting knowledge and understanding of Greek history, language, and culture of all periods, and in particular the fostering of research with a comparative focus, whether cross-cultural or exploring the diachronic spectrum of Hellenism itself.The director of the Centre is Gonda Van Steen. - Aris Chatzistefanou: A veteran journalist and filmmaker based in New York, with a career spanning over three decades in international media, including the BBC World Service, The Guardian, and Al Jazeera. He has directed six award-winning documentaries and authored three books on current affairs.
- Dr. Lewis Owens: An independent researcher and author, with a PhD from the University of Cambridge focused on Kazantzakis. His extensive publications explore Kazantzakis’s philosophical and religious thought, including his book Creative Destruction: Nikos Kazantzakis and the Literature of Responsibility.
- Emeritus Professor David Holton: A leading authority on medieval and modern Greek language and literature, co-author of the Cambridge Grammar of Medieval and Early Modern Greek, and former professor at the University of Cambridge.
- International Society of Friends of Nikos Kazantzakis (ISFNK): Founded in 1988 in Geneva, Switzerland, ISFNK aims to promote Kazantzakis's work globally. With sections in numerous countries and thousands of members, the society is led by Dr. George Stassinakis, a Knight of the National Order of Merit of France and Ambassador of Hellenism.
