The Film: D.O.A. is the quintessential film noir. In one of film’s most innovative opening scenes, Frank Bigelow marches into a police station and declares, “I want to report a murder.” His own. Edmond O'Brien stars as a small-town notary who pays the ultimate price for signing the wrong document at the wrong time. He's been poisoned and has only 24 hours before the lethal concoction kills him. Determined to find out who his murderer is, Frank, with the help of his assistant and girlfriend, Paula, embarks on a frantic odyssey to find his own murderer.
