Description
The North Fourth New Works Festival is a celebration of New Mexico's best up and coming playwrights. With 8 shows over 6 evenings, the festival is sure to include something for everyone. Come celebrate New Mexican stories! All shows start at 7:30pm and plays in the festival include:
Dining In by Aric Saiz (Thursday June 2nd, 2022)
Set in a restaurant, transitioning between tables with a mix of customers and the wacky conversations that happen between them
Fleur by Tracy Jordan (Friday June 3rd, 2022)
Lays bare the psychological fallout between a father and daughter as the mother declines.
Jane Kim Stein: The Modern Prom Thesis by Amy Yourd (Saturday June 4th, 2022)
A high camp dark comedy featuring prom queen revenge fantasies and a lot of karaoke.
My Dearest Jodie by Gino Gonzales; The Gift and Rainman my Michale Lente (Thursday June 9th, 2022)
My Dearest Jodie: What if John Jinkley Jr. and Jodie Foster met through online chat rooms? One night they decie to meet and a collision of politics and perverse fantasies come to life.
The Gift: An original Pueblo Indian-myth/short play taking place in the early 20th century, involving a young banished "witch," her talking cat and Coyote, the antagonist, all happening on a dark and rainy night.
Rainman: Rain is coming. A young man and his grandfather disagree about its inevitability. One knows and the other may grow to learn.
Pay You Back by Gareth Berger (Friday June 10th, 2022)
A woman vows to kill the man who killed her brother, now that he's out of prison twelve years later.
Them by Michael Lente (Saturday June 11th, 2022)
