Description

From their earliest years, Sherenté has stepped forward to pray for their people. Prayer, Sherenté says, is the conversations we have with creation. These conversations transcend spoken words. They pattern our lives. Join us for an investigation of why we need Narragansett language, arts, and spirituality now more than ever. The Narragansett people have never stopped dreaming. It is our duty to attend to those dreams.

Sherenté is a citizen of the Narragansett Indian Tribe and a PhD Candidate in the American Studies Department at Brown University whose interdisciplinary research focuses on Ninnimissinuog (Southern New England Native) history, linguistics, and cosmology.
