35 West 67th StreetOn the morning of October 7, 2023, journalist Amir Tibon, his wife, and their two young daughters hid in the safe room of their home at Kibbutz Nahal Oz, listening to the shouting and gunfire of terrorists outside. No rescue was coming. So Amir called his father.
Noam Tibon, a retired IDF general, armed himself with a pistol, got in his car alongside his wife, and drove south from Tel Aviv into the chaos — fighting together with soldiers and civilians, and reaching the safe room door hours later.
Three years on, the Stephen Wise Israel Committee invites you to a screening of “The Road Between Us” — Barry Avrich’s documentary account of Noam’s rescue mission and the extraordinary courage so many showed that day.
Following the film, we will hear Rabbi Michal Ken-Tor discuss how the Reform community she leads in Northern Israel provided spiritual care and support to the Tibon family and those displaced from their kibbutzim in the south.
