Description
Directed by Gonzalo X Ruiz featuring soprano soloist Clara Rottsolk.
When Handel settled in London at the house where he would spend the rest of his life, he became obsessed with the great English poets of previous generations, resulting in his setting of “Ode to St. Cecilia,” a veritable love letter to music. We combine arias from this masterpiece with instrumental works from his great Opus 6 Concerti Grossi and “Terpsichore”, Handel’s love letter to dance. Many generations later, another musical pioneer took up residence in the same house: Jimi Hendrix! We celebrate this odd connection with a "built-in encore" of "Little Wing" arranged for rock quartet and Musica Angelica, in the spirit of last season's "Exit Music.”
