No Thyme to Cook
14624 Solomons Island Road SouthThere is something warm and comforting about traditional German food. Hearty, flavorful, and steeped in centuries of tradition, it is a cuisine that brings people together around the table.
Like every great culinary tradition, German cuisine is wonderfully regional. From the mountains of Bavaria to the forests of Thuringia and the vineyards along the Rhine, each region has its own specialties, flavors, and techniques. While many classic dishes are enjoyed throughout the country, every area takes pride in its own unique culinary heritage.
In this class, you'll discover some of the traditional ingredients that define German cooking. We'll explore how German cuisine has evolved over the centuries while remaining deeply rooted in local traditions. You'll also learn the difference between Rotkohl and Sauerkraut, and which one Germans are more likely to serve on their tables today.
Adam Tremper, owner and guide of Spooky Solomons Ghost Tours, is a local historian and storyteller who masterfully weaves history, enduring local legends, and the rich culture of Southern Maryland into every presentation. With a deep passion for community heritage and a talent for bringing the past to life, Adam transforms true events and time-honored tales into immersive experiences guests never forget.
