Old-time Jam Lab
This Old-time Jam Lab is a class designed to help you gain skills and confidence playing with other musicians. Open to guitar, ukulele, fiddle/any bowed instrument, banjo, bass, and mandolin players from advanced beginner to advanced. Musicians Mia Friedman and Maggie Shar will teach a few traditional old-time tunes throughout the session, and focus on ear training and a little music theory to help you navigate tunes you may not be familiar with. We will also discuss how to start and stop a tune, how to blend with a group and more. We hope to give you the essentials and confidence to sound great even on a tune you have never heard before.

The Parlor Room Nonprofit and School of Music's mission is to: Promote a vibrant musical community in downtown Northampton, MA for musicians of all abilities and at all stages of their career.
