Relive that magical night of December 4th, 1956 when Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash gathered for an impromptu jam session at the renowned Sun Studios in Memphis.

It was a night in musical history that the world will never forget.

This theatrical production features nationally acclaimed cast members of the Broadway smash, "Million Dollar Quartet" which was about the same magical jam session.

These artists all have an uncanny sound, look and feel of the legendary stars they portray. The production also features an energetic back-up band that perfectly delivers the authentic Rockabilly, Country, Gospel and Rock ‘n Roll music.

One Night in Memphis, created and directed by John Mueller, is the number-one booked and critically acclaimed tribute to the legendary Sun Records recording artists. It has an ever-growing list of sold-out performances and outstanding reviews.

“There's a whole lotta shakin' going on, in this true American musical,” said Sharon Brass, The Barnhill Center producer. “It’s a nationally acclaimed show that is guaranteed to get you Rocking ‘n Rolling!”

The show gets off to a rocking start with Carl Perkins performing hits like “Honey Don’t,” “Brown-Eyed Handsome Man,” and “Blue Suede Shoes,” while offering up anecdotes about life as a sharecroppers’ son and his musical influences.

Midway through his set, Carl invites session musician Jerry Lee Lewis to join him. “The Killer” seizes the opportunity to front the band and lead the audience on a musical journey from New Orleans to Nashville and eventually into the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame.

As Jerry puts the finishing touches on a set which includes “High School Confidential”, “Breathless, “Whole Lotta Shaking Goin' On,” and “Great Balls of Fire,” the audience will have an opportunity to catch their breath for a few minutes.

Then Johnny Cash is welcomed to the stage with his musical journey including smash hits “Folsom Prison Blues,”  “Ring of Fire,” and “I Walk the Line.”

Next up…Elvis Presley who electrifies the audience and transports them back to his beginnings, where he went from driving a truck to delivering eleven #1 hits between 1956 -1959.  Hits like “Shake, Rattle & Roll” to “All Shook Up,” “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Don’t be Cruel,” and “Hound Dog.”

You will feel as though you are witness to the Rock ‘n Roll royalty jam session with the celebrated performers whose music has stood the test of time.

One Night in Memphis is an absolute hit! The audience went wild for this group of talented "legends" and each one delivered an act that was as strong as the next. Their group song numbers are fantastic as well. -- Jeri Misler, Gracie Theatre at Husson University, Bangor, ME.

One Night in Memphis is a hoppin', rockin', rockabilly hit! A bravura of extraordinary musicians; great showmen and our audience loved it! -- Michael Duncan, Oconomowoc, WI Arts Center.

I’ve been bringing shows since 2008 and seldom, if ever, has a show earned such resounding applause and audience cheering as the One Night in Memphis show did. It was a sensational show, top-notch singers and musicians. WOW! -- Millie Brown, Laguna Woods Performing Arts Center, Laguna Woods, CA.

The show was amazing, my audience has not stopped talking about how great it was. We had a great time! -- Kevin L. Maynard, Orpheum Theatre, Galesburg, IL

The musicianship in the show is first rate. It has energy and drive. Sometimes characterizations of iconic characters can be stale but these were spot on. Clearly the audience loved it. -- Steve Duchrow, Elgin Community Performing Arts Center

The Barnhill Center
Built-in 1925, in the grand architectural style of Beaux-Arts Classical Revival, the Simon Theatre provided a splendid setting for many theatrical performances, film screenings and ballroom dances. The James Simon family commissioned Houston architect Alfred C. Finn, whose career included designing a number of prominent Houston buildings as well as the San Jacinto Monument, to design the theatre for the community of Brenham. Today, after a meticulous million-plus dollar renovation, the glamour and grand style lives on for future generations in the newly named Barnhill Center at Historic Simon Theatre.
