One-Week Pottery Intensive - May 26-June 1, 2025

 

This immersive week-long intensive is designed for students eager to gain a solid foundation in pottery. 

 

By the end of the week, you’ll leave with many finished pieces and the hands-on experience needed to continue exploring the craft on your own!

 

This exclusive week of small-group instruction includes:

• Small group size
• Daily instruction from experienced ceramic teachers
• Focused lessons on wheel throwing, trimming and decoration
• Studio etiquette, health, & safety
• Introduction to different types of clay, wedging, & reclaim
• Kilns & firing
• Introduction to glazing
• Free Independent Studio sessions
• 15 hours of instruction tailored to your experience level
• Over 18 hours of independent practice time!

Who: This intensive is geared towards students early in their pottery journey. By the end of the week you'll have gained the knowledge and skills to work as a member in a community or home studio.

Duration: 5 Days (Monday thru Friday) with additional weekend practice time

Instruction Time:  Mon-Fri 6:00-9:00pm

Open Studio: Up to 3 additional hours per day, starting Day 2. 2-5 PM and Sat/Sun 1-4 PM. Optional, self-guided. 

Glazing: One free Independent Studio Session for glazing finished pieces after the week, scheduled at your convenience. 

Firing inclusion: Approximately 2000 cu. inches (bisque & glaze)

 

Classes are transferable but non-refundable.
