ABOUT THE CLASS: This 6 week class will teach the basics of sketch comedy writing including learning about game, pitching sketches, working with various sketch types, editing scripts, and giving and accepting constructive feedback. Students will learn how to use what they know to develop ideas, how to turn those ideas into sketches, and how to edit those sketches to be the funniest they can be. No experience necessary. This class takes place online via Zoom and a stable internet connection is a necessity.
ABOUT CAROLYN BEATTY: Carolyn Beatty (she/her) is an actor and writer who has performed in comedy shows, plays, and musicals around the Philadelphia and Chicagoland areas. She was a member of the Philly Improv Theater sketch house team The Decoy, as well as the independent sketch team The 19th. She has studied writing and improv at The Second City and Philly Improv Theater. Her work has been published on Reductress, Slackjaw, and Points in Case.

REFUND POLICY
A full refund is available up to one week prior to the start of the first class. No refunds will be issued after this time. If you are unable to obtain a refund and you are unable to attend the class you enrolled in, you may request a credit to be used for a future class. This request must be made at least 48 hours before the first class is set to begin. Requests may be denied based on space available in other classes. There are no credits, refunds, or transfers inside of 48 hours prior to the start of a class or after any class has started. Any questions about this policy please email classes@xroadscomedy.com. Crossroads Comedy Theater is a roaming home in Philly for comedy shows, podcasts, comedy classes, and more! Shows feature hilarious performers from the Philadelphia area and beyond. Classes are taught by the bes instructors in the Philly area who are passionate about making you a better at whatever your focus is. Crossroads is available for private shows, improv workshops, or other things you might have in mind. We are now starting very limited operations in Indianapolis as well!
