Mahjong Open Play Aboard the Portland Spirit

Don't miss the boat! Join us for a unique Mahjong Open Play aboard the Portland Spirit as we cruise along the beautiful Willamette River for an afternoon of mahjong, happy hour vibes, and great company.

Important Boarding Information:
Guests should plan to arrive early to allow time for parking and walking to the dock. Boarding begins at 3:00 PM at Salmon Street Springs Dock, and the boat departs promptly at 3:30 PM. The Portland Spirit cannot wait for late arrivals, so please plan accordingly.

Grab a seat and join us for Mahjong Open Play—a fun, social event designed for players who already know the game and simply want to play.

We'll be playing with Oh My Mahjong tiles and mats, giving you hands-on time with these beautiful, modern sets while enjoying river views, fresh air, and a relaxing cruise through Portland.

This is open play, not a lesson, but I'll be there throughout the event to answer rule questions, help clarify card confusion, and keep things running smoothly.

Please bring your own 2026 NMJL card. Don't worry if you forget it—I’ll have a few extras on hand just in case.

A few things to know:

• Players should already know how to play American Mahjong
• This event is not intended for brand-new beginners, as no formal instruction will be provided
• Food and beverages are available for purchase through Portland Spirit
• Seating is limited and advance registration is required
