Opening Reception: The Rapture 2026

Description

This year has already been a chaotic one, with a heavy start and tumult abounding. Much of our attention and time has been devoted to current affairs that leave us in a state of dissonance and pain. Yet, we carry on, do our best to defend our neighbors and advocate for what matters to us. Erica Williams (HookieDuke) has recently been working on fundraising and advocacy work for Minneapolis, but in between, they're still making time for silly things.

 

Push/Pull and (HookieDuke) invite you to an evening of silliness, joy, whimsy, and maybe a little bit of cursed cringe. Please join us Saturday evening at our late-night (8-10PM, after ECCC) opening reception of “The Rapture, 2026 Edition” to celebrate community, art, and our fuzzy overlords. All creatures are welcome.

 

HookieDuke (Erica Williams) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work weaves together traditional mark-making, surreal and archetypal imagery, dream logic, and occult symbolism. Their practice explores phenomenology, myth, the divine, and the arcane, dwelling at a threshold between transformation, the natural world, and the unseen that act as vessels of meaning, lore, and spiritual inquiry. In addition to illustration and printmaking, they create fiber works and symbolic art objects. They are also a mentor for WeCreate.
