The Opera Kelowna Society is a registered non-profit professional opera company and training centre for promising operatic artists.
Description
Join us in the central courtyard of UBC’s Okanagan campus for an outdoor evening concert featuring a quartet of professional opera singers. Our artists will perform favourite songs from well-known operas, as well as a music of other genres and perhaps a surprise performance or two!
Bring your favourite blanket or festival chairs and settle on the lawn for a glorious evening under the stars. Guests are welcome to bring their own picnic and refreshments, but no outside alcohol is permitted on site.

Add to your night on campus with an OPUS Elevated Experience, beginning at 6:45 pm at the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies building and featuring:
- Evening access to the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies’ exciting exhibition of Honky Tonk Chapel, curated by UBC Okanagan Gallery Curator, Dr. Stacey Koosel. The exhibition features Kevin McKenzie’s well-known series of resin-cast, neon glowing buffalo skulls, in an installation which juxtaposes pop culture, muscle cars, hot rods and honky tonk bar references with sacred icons intrinsic to Indigenous traditional beliefs and spirituality, such as buffalo skulls and religious motifs. This exhibition is part of the Indigenous Art Intensive, and is organized by the UBC Okanagan Gallery.
- A pre-concert reception with community leaders sponsored by the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies, featuring wine from Bench 1775 and refreshments from Midtown Station Kitchen
