Description

The Kinder HSPVA Symphony Orchestra ends the 2025-26 season with a program featuring four student soloists. Senior vocalists Sarah Vanlandingham (soprano) and Gabriel Magallón (baritone) will sing arias of Mozart and Handel. Violinist Chen Yu Chang will perform a movement of the fiendishly difficult Prokofiev, Second Violin Concerto, and pianist Luke Woodruff tackles the first movement of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 1, all accompanied by the orchestra.
The orchestra will also perform Mozart’s Overture to the Marriage of Figaro (led by student conductor Tobias Wheatley), and Maurice Ravel’s beautiful
Pavane pour une infante défunte. The night’s program concludes with the Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 by Franz Liszt, a piece audience members will certainly recognize by ear, if not in print.
Pre-concert music by the HSPVA Harp Trio will begins at 6:10 in the Commons Area.
We hope you can join us for an evening of celebrating our wonderful student musicians!
