Description

Class description: Paint Os design elements transparently on an oval or rectangular item using JoSonja paints and mediums.  Students can use other paint, but should be able to independently adjust color and technique.  Class will include discussion of JoSonja paint techniques and mediums (i.e. Kleister and magic mix etc).

 

Class level:  Beginning and Intermediate

 

Medium being used :  JoSonja acrylic gouache and mediums.  Acrylic and oil painters who want to take this class must be proficient in adjusting all techniques to oils as the instructor will not be answering oil technique questions in the event.

 

Surface:  Oval bentwood box or rectangle item of your choice.  Item should be approximately 10” L x 5” W x 1.5” D.  If you do not have something from your woodenware stash, you can check out the following: VikingWoodcrafts.com; Pinecraftinc.com; Turnofthecenturyshop on Etsy or other source in your area.

Note about supplies and additional information: The class fee does not include the cost of supplies. This is the responsibility of the student. The supplies needed, class pattern and color photos are included in the supply list linked above.

 

Instructor: Onya Tolmasoff

 

Instructor biography:  Painting since 1983, which was 2 years after I found a Telemark Rosemaling piece in a boutique and wanted to learn to paint Rosemaling.  Have been teaching since1985 and I am known as a stroke work artist painting a variety of styles. Was active in SDP and has been fortunate to have taken classes with JoSonja, Gary Albrecht, and other Vesterheim Gold Medalists and other Rosemalers through the years.

 

Location:  This is an online class hosted on Zoom.  All technical requirements needed to join the class are the responsibility of the student. RCC virtual classes will be recorded. All classes are listed in the Central time zone.
