Otonabeats has found a new home for its monthly dance music showcase. We're dedicated to showcasing veteran DJs alongside up-and-coming talent playing a variety of genres and styles. Expect quality beats, a killer Soundsystem, and a groovin' dancefloor with an atmosphere that can't be beat. This month's lineup includes:
LA
LA has been one of our go-to VJs for several years now. His visual prowess is unmatched, consistently leaving all of us in a state of awe! Last September he made an explosive start to his DJ career by hosting and playing at his event Re(love)olution. The energy he brought to his set was unlike anything we've ever seen, commanding the dancefloor with such expertise you'd have thought he'd been DJing for a decade. A natural DJ! We can't wait to see what he delivers this time around.
Goodkat
A true OG raver, DJ and dance music enthusiast since the early 90s with deep connections to the Toronto underground. Under his former alias, he co-founded the notorious Box of Kittens collective with Mike Gibbs, Jamie Kidd and Hali. His crew teamed up with Harvest to create the Sunday Afternoon Socials. His impact on the scene has generated a ripple effect that will be felt for years to come. Now calling Nogojiwanong-Peterborough home, we welcome Goodkat with open arms and are honoured to have such a talented and skilled DJ grace the decks for us.
E Motionz
If you've been dancing in Peterborough long enough, you've likely witnessed a set by this man before. If you attended our first underpass party in 2021 you would have caught a set by him under his former alias Yodez. Having taken a hiatus over the past few years, we are beyond stoked to welcome back our good friend, this time playing under his Drum and Bass moniker E Motionz. Expect quick mixing, double drops and enough bass to kick you in the chest.
