The national nonprofit Plant-based Prevention Of Disease (P-POD) conferences provide an evidence-based look at how plant-based eating patterns and allied lifestyle measures may reduce the risks of society’s major preventable diseases. P-POD offers guidance about how nutritional advisement and lifestyle medicine, along with attention to health equity, may be integrated into the work of the entire health care team. While welcoming the public, P-POD offers accredited continuing education to a very wide variety of health professionals. P-POD accepts no funding or influence from commercial sources, and is committed to maintaining affordable event admission fees so that a broad diverse spectrum of attendees may participate.

Plant-based Prevention Of Disease (P-POD, found at p-pod.org), through nutrition, lifestyle and health equity focused conferences, offers continuing education to physicians, nurses, dietitians, Lifestyle Medicine practitioners and other professionals. Students and public are also welcome. Our 501(c)(3) nonprofit accepts zero commercial sponsorship, funding or influence. The American Board of Lifestyle Medicine recognizes all of every P-POD Conference (attended in-person OR virtually) as qualified toward its 20-hour event educational prerequisite for candidates for the annual ABLM/ACLM Diplomate credentialing examination, and at DipLM24.p-pod.org it is explained how to meet their requirements. Other continuing education credits are disclosed at CE.p-pod.org.
The Core Topic Areas we cover at EVERY two-day conference are shown at core.p-pod.org, and the full agenda of this conference is reachable at agenda.p-pod.org. Prevention or even reversal of major chronic diseases through multifaceted lifestyle measures is addressed thoroughly, along with other subject areas such as women's health, health equity and disparities, the gut microbiota, physical activity and all of the Lifestyle Medicine Pillars. Audience Q&A time is provided for every presentation. Currently, each day at every conference provides 7.5 educational hours. A new "P-FLEX" arrangement will begin after all four 2024 events are registering, whereby one may choose any 3 DAYS from our 6 conference DAYS this year, and make an individualized 3-day 22.5-educational-hour package. More information on this will be shown at register.p-pod.org.
If you choose in-person attendance, then nc.p-pod.org will provide details about travel and lodging for our North Carolina State University Raleigh venue, including about inexpensive walking-distance campus apartments and selected offsite hotels. All meals (plant-based whole foods) are included with registration. Conference presentations take place each day from 8:45 am to 6:40 pm ET.
