In partnership with the Catawba Riverkeeper, Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden campers will spend 5 days learning skills from beginner to intermediate while exploring different locations on the South Fork and/or Catawba River in Gaston County.
Whether you are a true beginner or have experience on the water, we have something that will keep campers active, busy, and having fun! Paddling programs at DSBG build confidence, new skills, education about their water resources and the environment, and will create memories that your kids will remember for their entire life!
Our professional instructors provide summer campers with top-level kayaking lessons and equipment to learn with, while maintaining a supportive and fun environment on the water. Give your young paddlers a reason to unplug and advance their skills this summer!
As we build confidence and time on the water, we will take field trips to local paddling hot spots to build skills and experience new areas!
Camp Details
Dates: June 23 - 27, 2025
Full Day Camp for Ages: 12-15*
Full Day Camp: 9:00am - 3:00pm each day
*Campers must be age 12 through 15 throughout the duration of the camp.
Age limits are strictly enforced
Price per camper:
DSBG Members - $225
To qualify for Member pricing, you must be an active Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden Member at the time of ticket purchase. For questions about your membership status, please contact us at the email address below.
Non-Members - $250
Additional Information
Registration documents will be emailed to you upon purchase of ticket(s) and must be submitted no later than two weeks before the start date of the camp. Drop off and pick up information as well as general camp information will be included in the email. With automated email reminders going out periodically prior to the camp start date.
Campers will need to pack a lunch and snack for each day of camp.
Camp Capacity:
If the minimum camp capacity is not met by 3 weeks prior to the start date registered participants will be notified of the status of the camp at that time and what options may be available.
Camper Minimum: 6 participants
Camper Maximum: 12 participants
Rain Plans
Camp will run rain or shine each day!
Refund Policy
- 2 or more weeks before camp you are eligible for a 100% refund of your ticket purchase.
- 1 to 13 days before camp you are eligible for a 50% refund of your ticket purchase.
- After 9:00am on the first date of camp you are no longer eligible for a refund.
- If your child is dismissed from a program for disciplinary reasons no refund will be given for the ticket purchase.
