Description

The Friends of Chopin Australia are excited to announce the inaugural annual Paderewski Tour. This is a concert tour in the footsteps of the famous Polish pianist, Statesman, and Chopin exponent, Ignacy Jan Paderewski who toured Australia in 1904. Paderewski’s visit was highly anticipated by the fledgling nation and created a furore among the public, and invigorated the Polish diaspora in Australia. In 2023, the Paderewski Tour will feature incredible Polish pianist Aleksandra Swigut, and phenomal Australian group, the Orava String Quartet in a program including Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1, Krzysztof Penderecki's String Quartet No. 3, and Wojciech Kilar's 'Orava'.

This national tour will include performances in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne, where Paderewski performed, as well as Canberra.
