Paint Ceramics Talavera Style!
Celebrate Latin American artistry and culture with a colorful pottery painting class inspired by the iconic Talavera ceramics tradition. In honor of Latin History Month, we’ll explore the bold patterns, vibrant colors, and decorative motifs that make Talavera pottery so recognizable and beloved.
Your instructor will provide a pre-made leatherhard vessel for you to decorate, or you’re welcome to bring your own leatherhard piece for experienced ceramists. You’ll learn how to work with underglazes to create your own Talavera inspired design, with plenty of room to put your personal spin on it. Learn more about your instructor below.
No pottery experience is needed, just bring your creativity and a love of color! Your finished piece will be glazed and fired by the studio and ready for pickup once it’s complete in a few weeks.

Angelina (Angie) Rubalcava graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida with a Bachelor's in the Fine Arts.
As an artist, Angie enjoys pushing the boundaries of wheel throwing by creating connected sculptural forms, drawing inspiration from pre-Columbian traditions, and experimenting with atmospheric firing techniques. She approaches her practice with curiosity and playfulness, especially when it comes to glaze exploration.
