Description

Class description: In this class the student will review some of the basic designs and colors of the Agder style of rosemaling and then over the course of the class complete a design provided by the instructor on a 14 inch double beaded plate.  This class will be taught in oils but acrylic painters are welcome but will need to be comfortable handling their own mediums.

 

Class level:  Advanced beginner and up

 

Medium being used :  Class will be taught with oil paint, acrylic painters are welcome

Instructor: Kim Garrett

 

Instructor biography:  Extensive teaching experience teaching rosemaling both in person and on an on-line format.  Venues include, RCC convention, North House Folk School, Duluth Folk school, WSRA, INRA, Ely Folk School, Vesterheim Norwegian American museum, and multiple private classes throughout the Midwest.  On-line classes for Ely Folk School, North House Folk School, Vesterheim, INRA, and Nordic Canvas Folk Art Studio.  I’ve been rosemaling since 2008 and taken classes with several Experienced rosemalers and gold medalists.  I’ve also studied with several Norwegian rosemalers both in the US and in Norway.

 

Location:  This is an online class hosted on Zoom.  All technical requirements needed to join the class are the responsibility of the student. RCC virtual classes will be recorded. All classes are listed in the Central time zone.
