Get ready to step, bounce, and groove with us at our JB Workshop—a signature part of the West Side Roll weekend! Rooted in Chicago’s vibrant skate scene, JB (James Brown) style is all about musicality, rhythm, and soul. Whether you’re new to the style or ready to tighten your footwork, this workshop will get you sliding smooth and moving with intention.
Skill Level:
- To ensure you get the most out of this workshop, we recommend participants be comfortable skating forward and backward, turning, and moving freely without assistance. This workshop is best suited for skaters who already have foundational control and are ready to add style and rhythm to their movement.
What to Expect:
- A breakdown of JB fundamentals: footwork, rhythm, posture, and transitions
- Groove-building drills set to classic JB and funk tracks
- Individual guidance and group choreography
- Time to vibe, connect, and practice with the crew
