Description
Learn how to make sheets of paper from recycled textile materials and raw fibers used in textile fabrication such as abaca and flax. Paper has been made from used clothing, textile scraps and recycled materials for hundreds of years. Students will learn how to form sheets of paper from different base pulps adding textile materials to create texture, color and add visual and tactile interest. Using a variety of papermaking moulds (the frames used to form sheets), participants can expect to make a small stack of handmade paper suitable for book arts, drawing, and as artworks on their own.
This workshop is suited for those new to papermaking as well those with prior experience.
