Description
Learn how to make sheets of paper by hand! Starting with a variety of papermaking fibers such as abaca and cotton, participants will learn how to form even and consistent sheets of paper using a mould and deckle. Locally harvested plant materials will be incorporated to add texture and natural plant color. Working on professional-grade tools and equipment, students will gain experience with fiber preparation, pressing and drying paper, as well as view a working Hollander beater. Participants can expect to make a small stack of handmade paper suitable printing, painting and drawing, book arts and crafts.
