Description
Parents’ Night Out With Brooding’s Kathryn Jezer-Morton featuring her friend from high school, Odd Lots’ Joe Weisenthal
Kathryn Jezer-Morton writes the popular biweekly Brooding newsletter about family life for The Cut, and Joe Weisenthal co-hosts Bloomberg’s hit finance podcast Odd Lots. But throw it back 30 years, and they were high-school friends who lived next door to each other.
For Brooding’s first-ever live event, Kathryn has invited Joe for a wide-ranging conversation about parenting and family life that will draw from their respective areas of expertise, their niche obsessions, and their shared history hanging out and wasting time as teens. Topics will range from what we think college is “for” in 2026, if our own high-school experiences can offer anything useful to our kids, the best and worst times we’ve had with our families on vacation, and much more.
This is an event for everyone (including dads — dads, come through!) with school-age kids (or with babies, looking for a peek into the future) who likes thinking deeply about what it means to be in a family.
Doors at 7 p.m. with drinks, mingling, and light programming, followed by the conversation with Kathryn and Joe at 7:45 p.m.
Tickets include a one-hour open bar (beer, wine, and soft drinks) from 7 to 8pm.
