This Jane’s Walk, taking place in Downtown Atlanta, focuses on themes of advocacy, art, architecture, history, and culture.

Join Matthew Garbett — urbanist and cofounder of TheadATL — and other special guests for a walk through Downtown Atlanta that will discuss the tragic death of Atlanta's downtown, from parking craters at Garnett Station to abandonment at Five Points, all within less than a one-mile stretch between two MARTA stations. You’ll learn about the history, the urbanism, and the blight, but keep in mind it's not all negative; there is plenty of promise, potential, and hope here!

From Melody housing the homeless to the revitalization of Underground, this walk illustrates Atlanta’s resemblance to the phoenix, with Downtown currently in its stage of rebirth.

The festival promotes civic engagement and encourages leaders and participants to share stories about their communities and use walking as a means of connecting with their neighbors.

About the Leader of This Walk
