Description
Parlour Jazz returns for a loved-up Valentine jazz to croon you into a new kind of Romance. Expect a characteristically Lynrace groove with a twist on some classics.
Join us for an intimate live jazz experience hosted in The Parlour, Lynrace Spirit, led by local Jazz Saxophone wizard Ollie Weston. Our doors will open at 7pm, when you’ll enjoy a welcome glass of Prosecco or Lynrace Negroni, before descending to the Parlour. The bar will be open during the entire evening for you to savour our bespoke cocktails. There will be a break to recharge your glasses, engage with the musicians, and take in the atmosphere.
Lynrace Spirit is a unique cocktail bar in Jericho. Our ethos is founded upon forging connections and inspiring creativity, making it a natural home for live jazz. We will be welcoming a variety of jazz musicians over the coming months who will present yet further variety in jazz styles in our distinct and exclusive setting. We look forward to welcoming you.

Meet the musicians:

A chance encounter at an open-mic night at London’s iconic Hippodrome, led to Aret being signed to Reverb Music as a singer/songwriter. A successful recording career followed, working with a selection of songwriter/producers including Eg White (Adele/James blunt), Andy Smith (Portishead), Jamie Hartman (Rag ‘N’ Bone Man/Lewis Capaldi) and Judy Tzuke. Aret has had several of her songs covered by other artists including, Eg white, Will Young and Peter Grant and has appeared on EMI Studio Albums with Wa Wa Punx and film scores.
As lead singer of band Glide & Swerve for their Love.Nourish.Obey album, her self-penned song Aasha also featured on the Café Del Mar 17 album.

Hugh Turner started playing guitar at age 11 and by 13 he was playing with his brothers blues band in pubs and clubs around his native home town of Reading.
Graduating in jazz rock and classical guitar from North London University at age 19, Hugh played in all the London and the South-East’s jazz clubs with his already formed jazz trio. During the next few years he continued with his jazz performances but also concentrated on his composition. Pop session work, touring and many dance music recording sessions kept him off the streets.
In 1995 Hugh co-founded ‘Jazz Upstairs’, a club showcasing the best of British Jazz. Alan Barnes, Jon Gee, Jay Denson, Theo Travis and Dave Cliff all visited the club with the great house rhythm section of Andy Crowdy (acoustic bass) and Simon Price (drums). Around this time he formed Funk Assembly and started the JW’s residency, featuring among others Brandon Allen (sax), Dennis Rollins (trombone), Brian Edwards (sax) and Andy Gangadeen (drums).

Ollie Weston is a varied and active musician across a range of genres and musical styles, and has performed in live and studio sessions as a Saxophonist with artists as diverse as Amy Winehouse, Tim Minchin, Bonobo, Frank Turner, The London Jazz Orchestra, The Hackney Colliery Band, The Ambient Jazz Ensemble and The Nelson Riddle Orchestra. He is the co/leader of the Jazz Quartet ‘Time Is Of The Essence’ and composes and arranges material for this and other ensembles.
