Description
Join us for our third Pastry Ride of 2026 on Saturday, April 18th!
These community rides include treats*, coffee, great prizes, and lots of good vibes. We'll meetup in the parking lot behind Perennial Cycle at 9am and will roll out at 9:30am. This is a no-drop ride. We stick together and ride at a friendly, social pace between 7 and 10 mph. Leave your race kit at home.
For this weeks destination we will be riding 3.5 miles (one way) out to Lilac Park in St. Louis Park. As for treats, we will dine on tamales from La Loma Tamales at Mercado Central. All La Loma tamales are Gluten Free and vegetarian options will be available.
This week's ride will include special guest Allie Palmer from the Main Street Alliance. She'll be answering questions about Minnesota's new paid leave policy.
Perennial Cycle has been supporting the fabulous work of the Main Street Alliance for many years. They are a true voice for "actual" small businesses.
Pastry Rides have always been in support of the many of us that take the 30 Days of Biking pledge to ride our bikes every day in April. It is scientifically proven that people that commit to riding every day in April end up smiling more and ultimately putting on more miles in the season ahead. 😁 Join us by Making the Pledge!
While these rides are very family friendly, the distances are typically farther than a child younger than 12 will be able to comfortably do by themselves. So if you have a younger child that wants to ride, it will be best if you have an option for them to get a ride with you (say, in a cargo bike) if they start to feel tired or fall behind.
*Dietary accommodations are available to pre-registered riders who register at least 24 hours in advance.
PLEASE BRING: a helmet and a reusable coffee mug. You may also want a lock to secure your bike once we arrive. Dress for the weather. This ride typically will roll rain or shine (or snow).
A NOTE REGARDING PARKING: Out of courtesy to the neighboring businesses, we ask that ride participants who arrive by car use the ample street parking available and refrain from parking in the lot behind Perennial Cycle.
We will be hosting Pastry Rides every Saturday this month (that’s 4 opportunities to enjoy pastries, biking, and fun)! New rides will be posted every Saturday afternoon.
Marshals will be on the rides with first aid kits and bike tools, should any issues arise. A photographer will also be present. Please speak to the photographer directly if you prefer not to have pictures taken of you.
