$80 for Italian Pici Pasta Workshop with family style pasta meal (Paul Cullen wine and other beverages available for purchase).  

You can make pasta anywhere if you have flour and water. This workshop is all about using your hands: no eggs, no machines or equipment required. Just your hands! You will learn how to make Pici, a classic and ancient Tuscan pasta resembling thick spaghetti.  This is a hands-on pasta workshop.

 Bring your appetite!! Complimentary focaccia and dessert are included in the workshop! 

 The Workshop:

  • Chef Frank will demonstrate how to mix semolina, flour, water, olive oil dough and the featured sauce for the evening

  • Chef Frank will demonstrate how to shape, cut, and roll this unique pasta using only your hands

  • Each participant will get a pre-made dough ball to cut and shape under Chef supervision.

What you will learn:

  • The proper way to mix and knead pasta

  • Correct ratios of flour and liquid to make perfect pasta every time

  • How to shape this pasta using only your hands

  • The benefits of pasta water

  • Proper cooking and storing techniques

 How this works:

  • Chef Frank will bring ALL the necessary equipment and food products for the hands-on workshop.

  • A pairing sauce will be provided to enjoy with your cooked pasta.

  • If applicable, parents and grandparents should assist small children, which makes for a great interactive experience.  Chef Frank will assist where necessary. 

  • We then enjoy our pasta in a family style meal!  Paul Cullen wine is available for sale at the event.

  • Chef Frank will supply a focaccia and a surprise dessert for all to enjoy at the end of the workshop.

  • No prior pasta making experience necessary.

  • This class is not gluten free.

  • This class will include a dough making demonstration by the instructor.

  • With pre-prepared pasta dough, you will learn how to cut and roll Pici.

  • Additional Paul Cullen wines are available for purchase at the event. Please drink responsibly.

Paul Kares is a nonprofit organization whose mission is dedicated to educating aspiring chefs or musicians, focusing on kids and young adults who show interest and passion for culinary and musical arts. Paul Kares will weave together how these passions could be the foundation for life-long career for young people who are not necessarily college-bound and how they can hone their skills to be a personal chef, sommelier, performer, or all the above. Plus, Paul Kares will get them the tools like musical instruments, knives, etc for the students who can’t afford them and will donate to school systems that need equipment for their classrooms.
