37 Library StreetExpect the unexpected, the unscripted, the unrepeatable—and the unbelievably funny—at the next evening of long-form improv theatre at Mars Landing Arts Center. We’re spotlighting troupes with wildly different approaches to the art form, hosted by the experimental freeform duo The Charm Offensive.
Matt Peiken and Amanda Hargen are returning with The Charm Offensive, a freeform improv duo blending quirky abstraction, fluid turns of focus, and derailed narratives into a signature style that’s wholly unique in the regional improv scene. They’re sandwiched in the evening program between two Asheville acts making their first Never Scene Again appearances. Fresh off their performance at the 2026 Asheville Improv Festival, in May, the ensemble Saturday Manitee brings fully improvised films to the stage, spinning unique plots based on audience suggestions. Closing the evening is My Wife’s Head—the trio of Eric Brown, Stacey Uria and Casey Gullickson—mixing infectious characters with musical soliloquies.
Everything performed that night will be made up on the spot, spurred only by brief suggestions from the audience, and never to be repeated. Prepare to be delighted!
