Description

“Persuasion” will be performed within the rooms on the first floor of the circa 1794 General Hand Mansion on November 6, 7, 13, 14, and 21 at 7:00 PM and 8:30 PM and November 22 at 2 PM and 3:30 PM.

“Persuasion” relates the story of Anne Elliot, an aristocratic young lady who declines marrying Captain Frederick Wentworth at a youthful age even though she deeply loves him.  After a period of seven years, Anne and Wentworth meet again and must resolve their feelings through a series of encounters that are highlighted in the play.  This one-act play, inspired by scenes from Jane Austen’s novel, was adapted for Historic Rock Ford by Samuel Slaymaker.

Due to space constraints within the rooms of the Hand Mansion, audiences are limited to 15 guests per performance.

Guests are standing for the entire performance and will be moving from room to room following the action of the play.
