Description
Philly Sketchfest presents Burnt Toast and Mother's Pouch!
Burnt Toast Sketch Show is a high-octane, queer-run, absurdist take on sketch comedy fresh from NYC. Past audience members have described our shows as "a real-live TikTok feed," which I guess we'll take-- we specialize in sketches that hit you hard and fast. Our hour-long shows usually have between 20-28 sketches in them, which is damn near a sketch a minute! We do topical, we do timeless, we do clownish nonsense -- we do it all. And we do a lot of gay stuff. A disproportionate amount of gay stuff. Audience heckling is encouraged :) Featuring the talents of Actor/Writers: Melia Hagino, Sarah Santamaria, Will Warner, Emma Woodward, Griffin Kelly, and Emily Sthuler. Directed and produced by Sarah Santamaria with Assistant Director/Producer Luke Maynus
Mother’s Pouch is a Washington DC-based sketch comedy group, which was voted DC’s “Best New Sketch Group of 2024"! They’ve brought laughs to packed houses all across the District, and as a part of both Chicago Sketchfest and DC Sketchfest. Mother’s Pouch brings a high-energy mix of character-driven, absurdist, and situational humor with just the right amount of existential dread! If you’re looking for some classic knee-slapping comedy, dust off your ol’ knee guards and come jump in the pouch with us!
