AGES 21+

We’re inviting you (and your favorite plant) to join us for a night of plant-themed activities, including plant-themed headshots, show and tell, a cutting swap, plant board games, crafting, a cash bar, and more.

Connect with your local plant community at your local botanical garden. Advanced ticket purchasers receive 20% off plants on event night, excluding consignment.

Plant-themed headshots by Wezz De La Rosa Photography from 6:30-8:00PM. The Scott County Master Gardeners will be on site answering your gardening questions.

We ask that any plant you bring is free of pests. A “plant babysitting” cart will be available for those who bring a plant or make a purchase throughout the night.

This event is part of our fall houseplant event series. Check out our Plant Music Bingo, Plant Adoption Drop Off, and The Great Garden Cleanout (coming soon).

PLANT PORTRAITS: Get your photo taken with one of your plants, or one of ours! Our staff plant photos have been a hit on social media, so we decided to bring in Wezz De La Rosa Photography to take photos of our wonderful local plant community.

SHOW AND TELL: Have a plant you want to geek out about to an audience who gets it? Bring it on this night and sign up for a time to get up and show off your plant friend - giving them a chance in the spotlight. A plant babysitting cart will be available for you to keep your plant baby safe while you enjoy the rest of the night.

CUTTING SWAP: Bring a pest-free cutting of a plant to add to our cutting swap table, and take a new bud home with you.

ETC.: Check out the game tables where we’ll have plant-themed board games available for playing, an area for crafting, and the Scott County Master Gardeners will have a “Plant Doctor” table where you can chat about plants or ask questions.

Please do not bring any plants with pests to this event. Mealy bugs, aphids, spider mites, scale insects, and all other pests are NOT invited to our plant party.

Quad City Botanical Center

Adjacent to the Mississippi River in downtown Rock Island, Illinois, the Quad City Botanical Center is comprised of an indoor tropical atrium, outdoor gardens including a Children’s Garden with water feature, a G-Scale garden train exhibit (seasonal), educational greenhouse, a three-season event canopy, indoor banquet facility and gift shop.

As a public garden we maintain hundreds of plants ranging from tropical varieties to regional Zone 5 perennials. A garden for all seasons, our tropical atrium is splendid throughout the winter months and has been turned into a sandy beach on occasion, and our rare conifer collection is unique to the Quad Cities. In spring, flowering bulbs enliven the garden, including a stunning iris collection. Other special collections include day lilies, mums and ornamental grasses. Our outdoor butterfly garden attracts pollinators by the hundreds, and is lively from early spring to late fall when the monarchs start their migration.

As an educational resource we offer staff-guided tours of our gardens, grounds and greenhouse, serving 15,000 students annually. In addition, we participate in outreach programs at school campuses and set up educational booths at various community events. Our expert staff is on hand to answer questions and help interpret the garden and exhibits.

As a banquet facility we serve thousands of guests throughout the year and host events for affinity groups, service clubs, businesses, brides and grooms, birthday and anniversary party honorees, and classmates seeking a unique backdrop for a memorable event.

We support local artists by providing gallery space to exhibit works of art from various mediums and our gift shop offers many one-of-a-kind handcrafted items.

The Quad City Botanical Center is a 501 c 3, non-profit organization. We celebrated 25 years of bringing people and plants together in fun and meaningful ways in 2023 and welcome you to the gardens!
