Description
Join us to learn more about an exciting new research planting coming to Viles Arboretum!
This unique planting focuses on tree and shrub cultivation in a rapidly changing climate. Today's forests are facing many challenges; pressures from invasive species, introduced pests, warming climates and lengthened growing season. By selecting tree species based on climate forecasts, instead of what has historically grown in an area, we may be able to off-set some of the impacts to our forests are currently facing. Meet project manager Aleta McKeage from Waldo County Soil and Water District to learn more about this ground-breaking project and how you can help!
