PnP Studio: A Sound Installation

Description

Based on the proprietary Platipus platform, this first PnP Studio's installation channels sound to evoke imagination. At the moment of entry, the listener is encouraged to explore the environment of listening. A fundamental paradigm shift is that a musical composition delivered to the listener is not solely controlled by the composer, nor the performers. Instead, the listener has the ability to choose their way of listening.

The intention of PnP’s sound installation is to shape the listening experience. For example in a concert hall setting, audiences are expected to be in their seats from the start and to sit still throughout the concert. Intermission perhaps is the only time to stretch your legs. In Galleries however, the visitors have flexibility to move around freely to explore and to browse and to absorb the art. In that context, like an exhibition, PnP’s sound installation is to find your own point of listening to explore the musical experience at your own pace.
