Montrose Regional Library District & Bluecorn Cafe are ecstatic to partner with Award Winning Colorado Poet laureate, Wendy Videlock. Join Wendy for a FREE Poetry Workshop: Live the Creative Life by Cultivating the Imagination, generously sponsored by MRLD. This event is free, but we ask you to please RSVP by "purchasing" a free ticket. 

Live the Creative Life by Cultivating the Imagination Workshop is from 3pm to 4:30pm.

Join us again at 7pm for a reading by Wendy (awarded the Cantor Poetry Prize by the Telluride Institute) featuring her two recently published works "Wise to the West" & "The Poetic Imaginarium" . 

Bring your own piece of poetry to share, as Wendy will open the mic for others to share around 7:30pm-9pm. Students from the workshop are encouraged to share.

Award winning poet Wendy Videlock lives on the edge of a canyon in Palisade with her husband and various critters. In the introduction to her first book, Nevertheless, MacArthur finalist AE Stallings says of her work, “Videlock is a magician of wit and whimsy, wisdom being not the least of these”.  Timothy Green, editor of Rattle says, “Videlock is one of the few poets I can still read at length and purely for pleasure." Her poems and essays appear in Poetry, O Magazine, ALP, Hudson Review, The New York Times, Rattle, Hopkins Review, and other venues.  Her work has won the Cantor Poetry Prize and has three times earned the Keats Soul Making Award.  Wendy has twice been short-listed for the Rattle Poetry Prize and Colorado Poet Laureate, and her works have been selected for inclusion in Best American Poetry.  She is the author of six books. Her most recent books are Wise to the West, a full length collection of poems, (Able Muse Press) and The Poetic Imaginarium, a collection of essays on language, landscape and the imagination, (Lithic Press).
