Description
POP! is an evening-length dance work choreographed by Amina Kolenc, featuring 4 performers and an original score by AJ Kolenc. The piece is centered around the human tendency to see connections or meaningful patterns between unrelated or random things, known as apophenia.
Through abstract choreography, POP! creates an opportunity for people to connect to their imaginations. Like a blank coloring page, we invite the audience to come discover and color in their own meaning. You, the observer, are a key part of our research. After the performance, there will be a chance to discuss with the artists and share your unique perspectives. Be a part of our experiment and enjoy an exciting night of movement and music! Amina Kolenc received a 2025 Fellowship from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. This support made this project possible.
