Farming the Future Twinning Project aims to create relationships between procurers, Sussex farmers, community groups & schools.
The idea behind the project is for local farmers to link with a community setting and host farm visits to cultivate a deeper appreciation of where our food comes from. In turn the group will help support the farm by regularly buying some of their produce.
The project is in its pilot stage and this workshop is a space for procurers to share their perspectives on buying local and to understand their requirements and barriers.
We’re keen to learn how we can support procurement teams to develop long-term sustainable relationships with local producers and communities.
