37 Library StreetExpect the unexpected, the unscripted, the unrepeatable—and the unbelievably funny—at the next evening of long-form improv theatre at Mars Landing Arts Center. We’re spotlighting four acts with wildly different approaches to the art form.
John Bander and Shannon Krowicki are recently married transplants who carried along a wealth of experience from the stages of New York City's improv scene. They're bringing a signature blend of improvised songcraft and storytelling to Mars Landing. A troupe from across the stateline, with members in Johnson City and Bristol, TN, is making its collective North Carolina debut. Kim Richardson, a member of Asheville's vaunted Reasonably Priced Babies squad, is making a rare solo appearance, performing songs crafted entirely on the spot based on suggestions and stories from the audience. In the middle of it all, a student troupe from Mars Hill University brings the youth movement to the Mars Landing floor.
"Never Scene Again" is Mars Landing's new series of improv shows featuring acts from Asheville and elsewhere, hosted and curated by improv impresario Matt Peiken. Everything performed that night will be made up on the spot, spurred only by brief suggestions from the audience, and never to be repeated. Prepare to be delighted!
The performance includes one intermission.
