Description

This is our 3-Session Introduction course to the pottery wheel and clay. By the end of this course you will know the basics of using a pottery wheel and handbuilding with clay.

Sketch was born in the off-season at Urban Surf by co-owners Danielle Chevalier and Chris Mingay.

Danielle has always made a career out of sharing her passions with others. Her evolution goes from Chef (Banff + Hilton Hotels), Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor (AXFIT), Online Personality (@AXFIT YouTube + MY.TV.FIT), Paddler, Surfer (Urban Surf), and now Potter at Sketch. Chris’s passion is for another type of art; the art of creating unique spaces and guests experience. As Danielle lives out her passions Chris is building a way to share them with the world.

At Sketch “Urban Surf ” you can expect a unique space and eccentric personality. Our shop is connected with the outdoors and designed to help you open up your creativity and experience the meditative powers of art. As of today we offer paint-your-own pottery, clay hand-building, pottery wheel workshops, and a variety of weekly special events, BUT don’t get too comfortable…as our passions continuously evolve what we offer does too. Urban Surf and Sketch will always be “work-in-progress”.

THE SPACE

Sketch operates year around at Urban Surf on beautiful Pike Creek/Lake St. Clair. Highlights include our eeclectic outdoor patio, indoor “surf shop” studio, Fire pits, and heated Greenhouses. This is just the start for Sketch…hopefully every time you visit you’ll notice something new.
