Description
The Performance Awards are a marvelous program unique to the AAB. It was composed by our founder Mignon Furman, whose charming choreography is the main reason why ballet schools all over America, and in many overseas countries, have incorporated the program into their schools.
The program is a delight to dance. It is a series of ballet compositions of increasing complexity. Dancers make remarkable progress in their technique, and enhance their stage presentation. The program involves extra coaching in the evenings, and culminates in a performance.
Dancers perform their dances, which include a solo piece, in the Dance Lab theater in the Dance Building before an audience. Parents and friends are welcome.
Each dancer will receive a medal (Gold, Silver) and a certificate of achievement. Dancers also stand a chance of being awarded a Scholarship to AAB Summer School 2025.
