Description
It's never too late to become an artist. Prime Practice is an eight-week studio course that gives adults the opportunity to explore the artist's process, learn hands-on techniques, and build lasting skills.
Open to adults of all ages, the course welcomes anyone ready to try something new, sharpen their abilities, and meet others who share an interest in creating. Choose printmaking with Vince Long, watercolor with John Isaiah Kennedy, or enroll in both.
No prior art experience is needed. All materials are provided, and each two-hour session is structured to keep the experience accessible and welcoming for every skill level.
Printmaking with Vince Long
Explore four different approaches to printmaking while creating stationery you can use, keep, or give as a gift.
Over the course of the class, artist and designer Vince Long will introduce screen printing, block printing, gel plate printing, and experimental printing with found objects. Participants will create a stationery set using each technique and leave the course with four finished collections.
Long is a Memphis-based artist, designer, and educator. He founded VL Print after graduating from the University of Memphis Fashion Design program. He also teaches at the University of Memphis, sells his work through The Ugly Art Co., and works as an art handler.
